Baseball Drops Third Straight to St. John's, 5-2

Gainesville, FL – St. John's River State College defeated the BÌåÓý¹ÙÍøÈë¿Ú Saints on Saturday afternoon in Palatka, sweeping a three game set from SF (23-13, 8-7 MFC) and in the process tightened their grip on first place in the Mid-Florida Conference.
BÌåÓý¹ÙÍøÈë¿Ú jumped out to a 2-0 lead after a run in the first and another in the fourth on a RBI by Blake Berger.
St. John's (32-13, 12-3 MFC) tied the score with a couple of runs in the fifth on two hits and two walks and took the lead with a three run eighth inning. The Vikings relievers shut down the Saints the rest of the way for the three run win.
BÌåÓý¹ÙÍøÈë¿Ú had seven hits in all, led by a 2-for-4 performance from Jarred Mederos, including two doubles.
Kevin Martin started on the hill for SF and tossed five innings. Derek Vail and Clayton Wagner pitched the final three innings with Vail taking the loss.
The Saints will take a few days off before welcoming the College of Central Florida to Gainesville on Wednesday for a 3:00 PM game
